MAY 23, 2023
A Regular Meeting of the Dublin Planning Commission was held on Tuesday, May 23,
2023. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Commission Chair Tyler.

6. Public Hearing –
6.1 BASIS Independent School Conditional Use Permit and Development Review
Permit (PLPA 2023-00011)
Anne Hersch, Assistant Community Development Director, introduced Linda Ajello,
Senior Planner.
Linda Ajello, Senior Planner, gave a presentation and responded to questions.
Pratyush Bhatia, City of Dublin Transportation and Operations Manager, responded to
traffic questions.
Commission Chairperson Tyler opened the public hearing.
The Applicant, Jerry Hunt, talked about the project and responded to questions.
Toby Walker, Vice President of BASIS Independent School, talked about BASIS School
and responded to questions.
Trish Aust, Senior Director of Operations for BASIS Independent School, spoke on the
operations of BASIS school and responded to questions.
Jeremy Theodore, Architect with Inhabit Design, spoke on the architectural design and
responded to questions.
Commission Chairperson Tyler opened the public hearing.
Chair Tyler asked if there were any public speakers. Upon receiving no public comment,
Chair Tyler closed the public hearing.
Commissioners asked further questions and deliberated.
On a motion by Commissioner Thalblum, seconded by Commissioner Aini and by a vote
of 4-1, the Planning Commission adopted Resolution No. 23-03 “Approving a
Conditional Use Permit and a Site Development Review for a Private School at 7950
Dublin Boulevard” with the following additional conditions of approval:
• The applicant shall work with staff to find an alternative location on the west side
of the gymnasium building, if feasible, for the proposed trash enclosure

• The Applicant shall work with Staff to create elements that emphasize the
primary entrances on the east and west sides of the existing building.
