RESOLUTION NO. 189 - 05
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN

WELCOMING THE VALLEY CHILDREN'S MUSEUM
TO THE TID-VALLEY REGION
WHEREAS, the Valley Children's Museum was formed by a group of talented and enterprising
residents ofthe Tri- Valley area in 1999 by addressing the needs of mothers and their children ages
0- 5, and launching their idea to the public at a local Children's Fair; and
WHEREAS, the Valley Children's Museum promises to be a cornerstone attraction in the rri-
Valley area, complete with stimulating, education exhibits and programs for children 0 - 12, as well as
volunteer programs for youth and seniors; and
WHEREAS, the Valley Children's Museum is dedicated to celebrating childhood, promoting life-
long learning through playful exploration, and building social capital in the communities it serves; and
WHEREAS, currently, the Valley Children's Museum Interim Program, "Museum Without
Walls," functions to serve children and families in the region by making traveling exhibits and programs
available to them at community events, libraries and schools; and
WHEREAS, the Valley Children's Museum will serve as a unique and fully accessible resource
that will provide creative space for children, families, youth, seniors, educators and parent groups to learn
about their world and each other in an environment of cultural enrichment; now, therefore, be it
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin welcomes
the Valley Clúldren's Museum to the Tri-Valley and encourages our community to explore and utilize its
creative resources.
