CALL TO ORDER AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 2. PRESENTATIONS 3. PUBLIC COMMENT At this time, the public is permitted to address the Youth Advisory Committee on non- agendized items. Please step to the podium and clearly state your name for the record. COMMENTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED THREE (3) MINUTES. In accordance with State Law, no action or discussion may take place on any item not appearing on the posted agenda. The Committee may respond to statements made or questions asked, or may request Staff to report back at a future meeting concerning the matter. Any member of the public may contact the Recording Secretary's Office related to the proper procedure to place an item on a future Youth Advisory Committee agenda. The exceptions under which the Committee MAY discuss and/or take action on items not appearing on the agenda are contained in Government Code Section 54954.2(b)(1)(2)(3). 4. CONSENT CALENDAR Consent Calendar items are typically non -controversial in nature and are considered for approval by the Youth Advisory Committee with one single action. Members of the audience, Staff or the Youth Advisory Committee who would like an item removed from the Consent Calendar for purposes of public input may request the Chair to remove the item. 4.1 Approval of the April 24, 2024, Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting Minutes The Committee will consider approving the April 24, 2024, Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting minutes. NEW BUSINESS 6.1 Post -Event Discussion of the 2024 Dublin Benefit Concert The Youth Advisory Committee will discuss the 2024 Dublin Benefit Concert. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Discuss the event, note successes, and recommend areas to improve for future events. Staff Report Attachment 1- 2024 Dublin Benefit Concert Performer Flyer 6.2 2023-24 Youth Advisory Committee End -of -Term Recap The Youth Advisory Committee will discuss the activities and accomplishments during the 2023-24 service term and provide feedback for future service terms. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Discuss activities conducted and accomplishments achieved during the service term and provide feedback that the Youth Advisory Committees may incorporate into future service terms. Staff Report 7. STAFF AND COMMITTEE MEMBER REPORTS Brief information only reports from Committee Members and/or Staff, including committee reports and reports by Committee Members related to meetings attended at City expense (AB1234). 8. YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING April 24, 2024 4i 3) PUBLIC COMMENT Susan Gardner, Teen Librarian, handed out the May calendar of events at the library, including a Yoda hand puppet craft for May the 4th, free comics on May 18th, and the program proposal handout for fall. 4) CONSENT CALENDAR 4.1) Approved March 27, 2024, Regular Youth Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes. On a motion by Committee Member KarurParekh, seconded by Committee Member Haggmark, and by unanimous vote, the Committee adopted the Consent Calendar. Nicki Wanzenried, Recreation Coordinator, reminded the Committee that Committee Chair Braden Ou and Committee Vice Chairperson Yma Santos will present the annual report to the City Council in May. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Discuss the event, note successes, and recommend areas to improve for future events. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. DESCRIPTION: The 2024 Dublin Benefit Concert occurred on May 2, 2024, during the Farmers' Market at Emerald Glen Park Amphitheater. A total of sixteen youth and senior acts performed, including a high school Jazz band, vocalists singing popular songs, various dance groups, and other acts. The 2024 Dublin Benefit Concert Ad Hoc Committee, consisting of six Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) Members, planned and implemented the event. Tasks included soliciting performers, reviewing applications, creating the set list, preparing the program, emceeing, and advertising the event. The event was advertised at Dublin high and middle schools, City social media platforms, the St. Patrick's Day Festival information booth, digital boards, and the Senior Center marquee. The YAC will discuss the event, note successes, and make recommendations on areas to improve for future events, including event date and time; number and quality of performers/performances; logistics; advertising; collection of donations; sponsorship; overall success of the event; and recommendations to future YAC members.
