3. PUBLIC COMMENT
At this time, the public is permitted to address the Youth Advisory Committee on non-
agendized items. Please step to the podium and clearly state your name for the record.
COMMENTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED THREE (3) MINUTES. In accordance with State
Law, no action or discussion may take place on any item not appearing on the posted
agenda. The Committee may respond to statements made or questions asked, or may
request Staff to report back at a future meeting concerning the matter. Any member of
the public may contact the Recording Secretary's Office related to the proper procedure
to place an item on a future Youth Advisory Committee agenda. The exceptions under
which the Committee MAY discuss and/or take action on items not appearing on the
agenda are contained in Government Code Section 54954.2(b)(1)(2)(3).
4. CONSENT CALENDAR
Consent Calendar items are typically non -controversial in nature and are considered for
approval by the Youth Advisory Committee with one single action. Members of the
audience, Staff or the Youth Advisory Committee who would like an item removed from
the Consent Calendar for purposes of public input may request the Chair to remove the
item.

The Committee will receive updates on the activities of various ad hoc committees,
including the Youth Mental Health Forum, KidVenture Night, Benefit Concert, and the
Youth Entrepreneur Fair.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Receive the updates from the Mental Health Forum, KidVenture Night, Benefit Concert,
and the Youth Entrepreneur Fair Ad Hoc Committees.

Youth Mini -Grant applicants made presentations to the Committee.
Committee Member Weiss recused herself due to being a member of Ladies of Vast Effort
(L.O.V.E.).

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Committee will receive updates on the activities of various ad hoc committees, including the
Youth Mental Health Forum, KidVenture Night, Benefit Concert, and the Youth Entrepreneur Fair.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Receive the updates from the Mental Health Forum, KidVenture Night, Benefit Concert, and the
Youth Entrepreneur Fair Ad Hoc Committees.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None.
DESCRIPTION:
The ad hoc committees continue to diligently prepare for upcoming community events aimed at
fostering youth engagement, mental health awareness, and support for local programs. Below is
an update on the status of each event:
Youth Mental Health Forum: The Ad Hoc Committee continues to prepare for the Youth Mental
Health Forum on Thursday, November 14, 2024, which will focus on raising awareness of mental
health issues among teens and providing resources for youth, families, and the broader
community. The forum will feature a panel discussion with mental health professionals,
interactive workshops, and a resource fair aimed at promoting mental wellbeing.
KidVenture Night: KidVenture Night is designed to provide a fun and safe environment for kids in
kindergarten to 5t" grade. The event will feature interactive activities, including games, crafts, and
more. The Ad Hoc Committee is finalizing logistics, including entertainment and volunteer
coordination, to ensure a memorable experience for participants. KidVenture Night will be held at
the Dublin Senior Center on February 8, 2025.

Benefit Concert: The Benefit Concert Ad Hoc Committee is in the initial planning stage for the
annual fundraising event on April 24, 2025. The Committee will discuss whether proceeds from
the concert will benefit the Youth Fee Assistance program or the Don Biddle Scholarship Fund.
Discussions regarding talent selection, sponsorship opportunities, and promotional strategies to
enhance community participation and outreach are ongoing.
Youth Entrepreneur Fair: The Youth Entrepreneur Fair Ad Hoc Committee is working on
organizing this event to empower young entrepreneurs in Dublin. The fair will provide a platform
for youth to showcase their business ideas, connect with local mentors, and learn valuable skills
through workshops. Planning includes coordinating with schools and community partners to
ensure strong participation and support for youth entrepreneurs. The event will be held during
the Benefit Concert on April 24, 2 02 5.
