Amendment: As authorized by Section 22507 of the California Vehicle Code, the City of Dublin Municipal Code is amended to add Section 6.04.275 Preferential Parking Privileges to read as follows: "Section 6.04.275 Preferential Parking Privileges. The City Council may by ordinance or resolution designate certain streets or portions of streets on which parking is restricted to certain residents, merchants, or other designated groups which have been issued a permit or permits which exempt them from parking prohibitions or restrictions. Such preferential parking areas shall not apply until signs or markings have been placed giving adequate notice thereof." Section 2. Effective Date: This ordinance shall take effect immediately pursuant to Government Code Section 36937(b). The facts constituting the emergency are as follows: the City maintenance crew's performance of assigned work, including emergency response, is hampered by vehicles parked on the street adjacent to the Corporation Yard. The ability to restrict parking in this area will allow the safest and most efficient performance of said activities. The Council therefore finds, based on the foregoing facts, that this ordinance is an urgency ordinance necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, and shall become effective immediately. Section 3. Posting: The City Clerk of the City of Dublin shall cause this ordinance to be posted in at least three public places in the City in accordance with Section 36933 of the Government Code of the State of California.
