Previously the Committee developed a branding logo that the community could associate with Dublin
Pride Week. The attached brochure (Attachment I) and informational flyers utilize this branding logo
with the 2005 slogan "Planet Dublin!" The slogan is an effort to recognize Dublin's contribution to the
global community and encourages people to work to improve our world through environmental awarcness
and volunteerism as supported by the Dublin Pride Week activities.
The proposed 2005 Dublin Pride Activities are as follows:
Poster Contest:
The poster contest has been a Dublin Pride Week tradition for many years. The Dublin San Ramon
Women's Club has again volunteered to organize and manage the contest. The Poster Contest is open to
all Dublin students grades K-12. Winning artwork will be printed in the Tri-ValIeyHerald and displayed
at the Civic Center. Awards will be handed out at a Dublin City Council Meeting.
School Giveaways:
Dublin Pride promotional items will be given to each child that attends school in Dublin. This year's
items include recycled content pens for all school aged children and environmental educational coloring
and activity books.
Community Blood Drive:
Every Spring, the American Red Cross attempts to build a large reservc of blood due to an expected drop-
offin the swnmer attributed to donor vacations. The Blood Drive will take place in the Dublin Library
Community Room on Monday, April 18, 2005 from 9:00-3:00 p.m.
Orchid Sales:
A hybrid orchid has been created by Frank Fordyce of Fordyce Orchids in Livermore, CA, to honor the
City of Dublin, which he called home for 20 years. A limited number of this unique orchid, officially
named "Pride of Dublin" will be offered for sale to the community. Attachment 2 is a flyer developed for
the promotion and sale ofthe orchid.
Canned Food Drive:
Collection bins will be set-up at the Dublin Civic Center and Library to collect non-perishable items
throughout Dublin Pride Week. Community groups will also be collecting canned food during the week.
Electronic Waste & Household Hazardous Waste Collection:
Dublin residents will bc allowed to drop-off electronic and/or houschold hazardous waste free of charge.
The event will be held at 5601 Arnold Drive (comcr of Arnold and Central) on April 23cd. An

the community's awareness and participation in the activities and volunteer opportunities. To that end, the

for participants to obtain up-to-date information on the various activitics and volunteer
opportunities surrounding Dublin Pride Week. The website also includes a place for
volunteers to sign up to participate in any of the events. The website is highlighted on all
other outreach materials listed below.
