DESCRIPTION: Since 1993, the City's Striping & Marking Contracts have been for
two-year terms. In an effort to save annual bidding costs and provide continuity of work, this Striping and
Marking Contract is proposed for a three-year term, with an opportunity for the contractor to negotiate rate
adjustments on an annual basis. The operating budget for striping and marking includes curb painting and
emergency work performed by MCE, as well as this striping contract.
The quantities to be bid are based on known striping needs for Fiscal Year 2005-2006, with a. three-year
extension for probable needs in Fiscal Years 2006-2007 and 2007-2008. Striping work to be
accomplished under this contract includes re-installing existing striping, marking, and miscellaneous new

would be performed on an as-needed basis and would not exceed the budgeted amount in any single year.
