Direct Staff to Prepare a Formal Acknowledgement
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: At the May 17, 2005 City Council Meeting, a donation of $4,300
was presented to the Council by the Dublin/San Ramon Women's Club, a member of the California
Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC). These funds are to be allocated for the Murray Schoolhouse
Renovation Project. In 2003-2004 the Dublin City Council rated as a high priority goal: "to refi¡rbish
exhibit .space within the Murray Schoolhouse to provide a fresh setting that will optimally highlight
Dublin's History_ "
The Restoration Project wíl1 refurbish exhibit space within the Murray Schoolhouse to provide a setting
that will optimally highlight Dublin's history. Current exhibits will be completely renovated and updated.
Eight individual exhibit elements wíl1 be incorporated into the design, including; The Native Californians
of Dub\în, Spanish Era, Pioneer's Journey West, Pioneer Kitchen, Historic Murray Classroom, John
Green's Store, Children's Hands-on Area, and Yolk McClain Era. Staff has been pursuing grant funds
and/or donations to help support this project; to that end, the Dublin/San Ramon Women's Club organizcd
a Crab Feed in March 2005 to sponsor this endeavor. The proceeds from this event are to assist with the
Pioneer Kitchen Restoration.
RECOMMENDATION: As per Government Code Section 37354, it is recommended that all
gifts and contributions be formally accepted by the City Council. Therefore, Staff recommends that the
City Council accept the donation, approve the budget adjustment, and direct Staff to prepare a formal
acknowledgement to the donor.

The enclosed check is from the proceeds of a Crab Feed held March 2005. The
beneficiary ofthis event was to be the Old Murray School Museum Kitchen
Restoration Project.
The funds may be used in any manner for this restoration.
