Improvements:
* Budget to suffieiently fund the costs in FY 2005-2006 is carried over ITom the unused tìmds in
FY 2004-2005. This budget carryover item is included as part of a previous Agenda item for this
City Council meeting.
This project is funded through the City's General Fund (001). Estimated actual expenses were
higher than antieipated for salaries/design/miscellaneous in FY 2004-2005 due to a PG&E
connection fee and increased construetion management and inspection costs as the result of
revisions to the improvements.

DESCRIPTION; On Oetober 19,2004, the City Council awarded Contract No. 04-04,
Traffic Signal at Amador Valley Boulevard and Starward Drive, to Brown & Fesler, Inc.
This project installed a new traffic signal system at the intersection of Amador Valley Boulevard and
Starward Drive in conjunction witb upgrading the existing traffic signal system at the intersection of
Amador VaHey Boulevard and Donohue Drive in order to run both traffic signals as one system. Work
also includcd climinating the westbound left-turn lane on Amador Valley Boulevard at the Dublin Senior
Center driveway entrance and improving mcdian island landscaping. The traffic signal system installed at
both intersections will facilitate and enhance the safety of turning movcments and aid access to the new
Senior Center and Senior housing development.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staffreeommends that the City Council accept improvements under Contract No. 04-04, Trame Signal at
Amador Valley Boulevard and Starward Drive, and authorize the release of retention after 35 days if there
are no subcontractor claims.
