RECOMMENDA TION: ~ Adopt Resolution and direct City Clerk to forward a certified copy to

FINANCIAl, STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: The Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District represents 55
agencies in the State of California.
The City has received a letter from John R. Rl-lsmise1, District Manager, advising that Dr. James Kohnen's
term of office expires on January 2, 2006. The Mosquito Abatement District is requesting that Dr.
Kolmen be reappointed to serve another two-year tel111, as he is currently serving as Chair ofthe West Nile
Virus Committee.
Mayor Lockhart requests that the City Council confÌl111 the re-appointment of Dr. James Kohnen as the
City of Dublin's appointment to the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District Board for a tern1
ending January 2, 2008.
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached Resolution reappointing Dr. Kohnen to the
Alanleda County Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trl-lstees and direct the City Clerk to forward a
certified copy ofthe Resolution to the District.

Dear Mr. Ambrose:
The term of office of Dr. James Kohnen, as trustee of this District, expires January 2,
2006. We respectfully request an appointment be made prior to the expiration date for
the two-year term of trustee of this District representing the City of Dublin.
Dr. Kohnen has diligently served on our Board since 2004. His professional expertise
in the fields of entomology and public health is of great value to the District. He
currently serves as Chairman of the West Nile Virus Committee.
We shall appreciate your sending us a certified copy of your resolution appointing your
trustee to our Board for the term ending January 2,2008.

MAKING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE
ALAMEDA COUNTY MOSQUITO ABATEMENT DISTRICT
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin is authorized to appoint one member of the Board of Trustces of
the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District; and
WHEREAS, the term for the current appointee expires on January 2,2006; and
WHEREAS, the tel111 ofthis appointment shall be through Janl-lary 2,2008; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Dl-lblin City Council hereby reappoints
Dr. James Kohnen as Board of Trustee representing the City of Dublin on the Mosquito Abatement
District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall forward a certified copy of this
Resolution to the Alameda COl-lnty Mosquito Abatement District.
