The construction budget for this project is $45,000, of which
$25,000 is to be paid from the Internal Service Fund and the balance
from the General Fund
DESCRIPTION: This project would remove the to,OOO-gallon gasoline tank, fuel
pump, and associated piping, perform all required environmental testing, and backfill and pave the
excavation. The gasoline tank is located under the drive aisle of the police parking lot. County
Environmental Health regulations will not allow the tank to remain in the ground once operation has
ceased.
Three bids were received. The low bidder is American Construction and Environmental Services, Inc.,
with a bid of $38,229 00.
Staff has reviewed the low bidder's proposal and checked with references. Staff therefore recommends
that the City Council adopt the resolution awarding Contract 05-13 to American Construction and
Environmental Services. Inc.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN

AWARDING CONTRACT 05-13
CIVIC CENTER FUEL TANK REMOVAL TO
AMERICAN CONSTRUCTION AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on February 27,2006, publicly open, examine, and declare
all sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved Plans, Specifications, and Modifications for
Contract 05-13, Civic Center Fuel Tank Removal, authorized by the City Council on September 20, 2005,
which Plans, Specifications, and Modifications are hereby expressly referred to for a description of said
work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and
WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the Director of Public Works, who has recommended
that the bid hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid for doing said work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does
hereby award City of Dublin Contract 05-13, Civic Center Fuel Tank Removal, to the lowest responsible
bidder therefor, to wit, American Construction and Environmental Services, Inc., with a bid of Thirty-
Eight Thousand Two Hundred Twenty-Nine Dollars ($38,229 00), the particulars of which bid are on file
in the Office of the Director of Public Works.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute the agreement.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of March, 2006.
