RoSa Construction GMI Construction Pacific Coast Reconstruction Best Roofing $290,512.32 $399,000.00 $412,700.00 $545,000 00 The construction budget for this project is $295,426, of which $66,220 is to be paid from the Internal Service Fund and the balance from the General Fund. The low bid is within funds budgeted for construction. DESCRIPTION: On February 21, 2006, the City Council authorized Staff to solicit bids for Contract 06-02, Fire Station 16 Repairs. This project includes the following elements: roof repair to correct leaks which have occurred intermittently for several years, replacement of aging HV AC (heating ventilating, and air conditioning) units, replacement of windows which will not open or close completely, drywall repair, and interior and exterior painting. Four bids were received. The low bidder is RoSa Construction., with a bid of $290,512.32. Staff has reviewed the low bidder's proposal and is familiar with the contractor's work. Staff therefore recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution awarding Contract 06-02 to RoSa Construction. COPY TO: Bidders Page I of 1 ITEM NO. 4." g:\miscproj\fuel tank closure\agenda statement award RESOLUTION NO. - 06 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN ********************** AWARDING CONTRACT 06-02 FIRE STATION 16 REPAIRS TO ROSA CONSTRUCTION WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on March 22, 2006, publicly open, examine, and declare all sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved Plans, Specifications, and Modifications for Contract 06-02, Fire Station 16 Repairs, authorized by the City Council on February 21, 2006, which Plans, Specifications, and Modifications are hereby expressly referred to for a description of said work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the Director of Public Works, who has recommended that the bid hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid for doing said work; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby award City of Dublin Contract 06-02, Fire Station 16 Repairs, to the lowest responsible bidder therefor, to wit, RoSa Construction, with a bid of Two Hundred Ninety Thousand Five Hundred Twelve Dollars and Thirty Two Cents ($290,512.32), the particulars of which bid are on file in the Office of the Public Works Director. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute the agreement. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of April, 2006. AYES NOES. ABSENT.
