RECOMMENDATION: 1# Select the preferred Banner DeSIgn or provide Staff with alternate

FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
$17,335 is available for the project in FY 2005-06
DESCRIPTION: The City Council identIfied as a hIgh priority goal for Fiscal Year
2005-2006 to "Purchase additional banners to advertise the Summer Concert Series throughout the
Otv" $17,335 was included in the Capltal Improvement Program budget for the design of the new
banners and to purchase 66 banners.
The funds wIll provide enougb banners to hang one on each I1ght pole that has exiting banner hardware on
Duhl1n BOldevard, from Donlon Way to TassaJara Road. The project will also provide additional banners
and hardware to expand the banner pr~)gram cast on Dublin Boulevard from Tassajara Road to Keegan
Street, as well as the light poles that will be installed in the future from Keegan Street to Fallon Road.
Based on the quote received from the City's ball11er program vendor, sufficIent funds arc available to
proceed wIth the project.
At the Heritage & Cultural Arts CommissIOn meeting of April 13, five dlstmct hanner designs were
presented for the CommisSIon's review The Commissum favored the ball11er design provided in
Attachment 5, but recommended a few different color combinations which would allow for more contrast
to enhance the visual elements. Attachments 6 and 7 are revIsed deSIgns for the Council's consideratIOn.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends tbat the City Council review and select the
preferred hanner deslgJ1 or provide alternate directIOn.
