This project was completed within funds budgeted.
DESCRIPTION: This project removed the 10,000-gallon gasoline tank, fuel pump,
and associated piping from the Civic Center site, performcd all required envirorunental testing, and
backl1l1ed and paved the cxcavation. The gasoline tank was located under the drivc aislc of the police
parking lot.
The final result of the environmcntal tcsting is expected to be received sometime in June. It appears that
no Icakagc occurrcd from the tank itself but that there may have heen minimallcakage associated with the
piping to thc fuel pump.

The contractor has completed the work satisfactorily and in accordance with the project specifications.
Staff recommends that the City Council accept the improvcments and authonze final payment to
American Construction and Environmcntal, less retention to be paId in 35 days if no subcontractor or
supplier elaims arc rcccivcd.
