The following is FY 2005-2006 budget for this capital project:

This project is funded by Gas Tax monies (Fund 206). Pavement
failure repairs and crack sealing improvements required prior to
slurry seal resurfacing have been included in the Annual Street
Overlay Program as a cost savings measure.
DESCRIPTION: On May 16, 2006, the City Council awarded Contract No. 06-05,
2005-2006 Annual Slurry Seal Program, to Bond Blacktop, Inc.
Slurry seal is a preventative maintenance technique used to prolong the life of asphalt concrete surfacing.
As streets begin showing wear and stress cracking, it is important to seal the cracks to keep water from

getting into the roadway sub grade. Slurry consists of a sand/oil mixture which seals cracks and provides a
new uniform wearing surface.
The following streets were slurry sealed as part ofthe 2005-2006 Program:

Pine Court
Poplar Way
Millbrook Avenue
Holanda Lane

Mangrove Drive
Boxwood Way
Fawn Way
Hawk Way
Finch Way
Myrtle Drive
Pheasant Court
Owl Court
Sparrow Court
Peacock Court
Due to coordination efforts with Dublin San Ramon Services District's (DSRSD's) sewer rehabilitation
work and other various development projects, several streets have been deferred to the FY 2006-2007
slurry seal program. As a result, the work completed in this year's Program is about half of the budgeted
amount.
Staff has inspected the work and recommends that the City Council accept the improvements under
Contract No. 06-05, 2005-2006 Annual Slurry Seal Program, and authorize the release of retention after
35 days ifthere are no subcontractor claims.
