This project was completed within funds budgeted.
DESCRIPTION: This item was originally brought to the City Council at the July 7th
meeting; however, it was called to Staff's attention that the work was deficient, and the item was not
approved. The contractor was called back to repaint locations missed on the fence, and Staff feels that the
work is now satisfactory.
This project was originally approved in December of 1997, but the work was not performed until June
because of the rain. The cost associated with Quality Painting's work was $19,300. In preparation for the
painting, approximately $4,700 was incurred by the maintenance crew for pruning shrubbery away from the
fence to facilitate the painting. On June 2, 1998, the City Council approved a change order to paint the .
fence at Alamo Creek Park. The total cost of the park fenc-e painting, which is budgeted as- part of the
Park Maintenance Operating Budget, was $8,750.
.Staff recommends that the City Council accept the improvements and authorize payment to Quality
}ainting and Construction.
