AGENDA STATEMENT
CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: January 20,1998
SUBJECT:
Scheduling of Joint Study Session with Planning Commission
Report prepared by: Richard Ambrose, City Manager
RECOMMENDATION: Consider setting date for a Joint Study Session to discuss proposal from Peoplesoft
on February 17 or March 3, 1998 at 5:30 p.m., or select another date.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: Staffhas received a request from Peoplesoft and Alameda County Surplus Property
Authority to process a Planned Development Rezone, Site Development Review, Tentative Parcel Map and
Development Agreement for the 53 acre property located at the southwest comer of Hacienda Drive and Dublin
Boulevard.
This property is within the boundaries of the Eastern Dublin Specific Plan. The Plan allows for the 53 acre property to
be developed with a maximum of 1,962,378 sq.ft. of office and retail uses. Staff would like the City Council and
Planning Commission to review general concepts for planning the site. If this site is to develop at the maximum
.ount allowed by the Specific Plan it will create a development that will be of a scale larger than surrounding
properties. It will most likely include buildings from 8 to 15 stories in height along with parking lot structures.
Additionally, this scale of project may influence how the future transit area (property adjacent to BART) develops in
the future.
Staff and Peoplesoft would like to get some general direction from the Planning Commission and City Council on
whether Peoplesoft should pursue their application at the scale proposed or with modifications.
Staff recommends that the City Council discuss and determine whether to hold a Joint Study Session with the
Planning Commission on February 17, or March 3, 1998, at 5:30 p.m.; or on another date.
