AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 11-84
CONSOLIDATING THE CITY MUNICIPAL ELECTION
WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION
The City Council of the City of Dublin does ordain as follows:
Section 1. CONSOLIDATION
The City of Dublin municipal election shall be consolidated
with the statewide general election which is held on the first
Tuesday after the first Monday in November in even-numbered
years.
Section 2. EXTENSION OF TERMS OF OFFICE
Pursuant to Section 36503.5(d) of the Government Code, this
section is hereby amended to read "City Councilmembers terms of
office shall expire no later than the fourth Tuesday after the
day of the general municipal election and until their successors
are elected and qualified."
Section 3. NO?IFICATiON TO REGISTERED VOTERS
Within 30 days after this ordinance becomes operative, the
City Clerk shall cause a notice to be mailed to all registered
voters informing the voters of the change in the election date
and as a result of this change, elected City Councilmembers'
terms in office will be changed.
Section 4. POSTING OF ORDINANCE
The City C%erk of the City of Dublin shall cause this
Ordinance to be posted in at least three (3) public places in the
City of Dublin in accordance with Section 36933 of the Government
Code of the State of California.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Dublin on this llth day of Augus% 1986 by the following vote:
