FINANCIAL STATEMENT: The estimated total cost for the demolition improvements is $84,603. There are sufficient monies budgeted for this work within Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Project No. 96852, Dougherty Road Improvements, Houston Place to 1-580. This project is funded through the Traffic Impact Fee (TIF). DESCRIPTION: As part of CIP Project No. 96852, Dougherty Road Improvements - Houston Place to 1-\580, it was necessary to acquire portions of two commercial properties situated on the southeast comer of It he Dublin Boulevard/Dougherty Road intersection. The 12,600-square-foot building located at 6380 Scarlett Court was formerly occupied by Gil Body Works, All Glass, and Smog Station. The 8,500-square-foot building at 6500 Scarlett Court was formerly occupied by Miracle Auto Painting. In preparation for the widening of the Dublin Boulevard and Dougherty Road intersection, these two structures were demolished and the building sites cleared of debris. The cost of this work is budgeted within the CIP project, Dougherty Road Improvements, Houston Place to 1-580, and funded through the TIF. Staff has inspected the work and recommends that the City Council accept the improvements under Contract No. 06-11, Demolition of the Buildings at 6380 and 6500 Scarlett Court, and authorize the release of retention after 35 days if there are no subcontractor claims.
