Acceptance of Gifts to city Report by Diane Lowart, Recreation Director EXHIBITS ATTACHED : None fV .r! 1. Accept Gifts and Direct Staff to Prepare Formal Acknowledgment to the Donors 2. Authorize additional appropriations from "Contributions From Others" as follows: Preschool contract Services ($324.59); Youth Sports Operating supplies ($770.85); and Youth Sports Contract Services ($1,067). RECOMMENDATION FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None DESCRIPTION several successful cash donations. A follows: : The Recreation Department fundraisers and, in addition, description of the fundraisers recently conducted received several and the donations Shannon Center Preschool Local Tupperware representative Rebecca Toulouse has donated $219.59 which represents the proceeds of a preschool Tupperware sale and Jerry Bush of Lucky Pizza in DUblin has donated $85 which represents the proceeds from a Pizza Night fundraiser. In addition a donation of $20 from the Taugher family was received. Youth soorts Basketball League The participants in the city's Youth Sports Basketball League conducted sales of "Gold C" coupon books in order to raise funds for end-of-the-season participant awards. A total of $1,880 was raised. In addition, a local photographer, Gentile Enterprises, has donated $150 and miscellaneous donations of $194.50 were received. Per Government Code Section 37354, it is recommended that all gifts and contributions be formally accepted by the city Council. Therefore it is the recommendation of Staff that the city Council accept the gifts and direct staff to prepare a formal acknowledgment to the donors. In addition it is requested that the city Council authorize staff to make the appropriate budget adjustments to recognize the unanticipated revenue and an appropriation for the expense. ::::-::~~-~~------------------------------------::::::-::~:::::: CITY .
