THE COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION OF ALAMEDA COUNTY
HAYWARD, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION NO. 76-46 - At meeting held April 19, 1976
Introduced by Commissioner George Spiliotopoulos
Seconded by Commissioner Edward E. Enos
WHEREAS American Neon, Inc., has appealed the decision of the
Planning ~irector in disapproving a proposed freestanding monument sign
90 sq. ft. in area and 6 feet in height as part of Site Development Revie\1
S-547x for the proposed Woolworth Garden Center on Regional Street be1;1een
Amador Valley Boulevard and Dublin Boulevard in Dublin; and
WHEREAS this Commission did consider the matter at its regularly
scheduled publ ic hearing; and
WHEREAS it was determined that although the proposed monument
sign is prohibited by the Dubl in Regional Center Design Pol icy, it is of
moderate size and attractive design; and
WHEREAS the proposed Woolworth Garden Center has proposed only
two small 12 sq. ft. building mounted signs in addition to the 90 sq. ft.
monument sign giving the entire 2.5 acres of the development a total of
114 sq. ft. of business identification signing which is in the spirit of
the Dubl in Regional Center Design Policy and as such is esthetically in
the publ ic interest: Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED that the appeal of American Neon, Inc., is hereby
granted and the approved Exhibit for S-547x be revised to include the 90 sq.
ft., 6 ft. high freestanding monument sign for the Woolworth Garden Center
subject to the understanding that no additional building mounted signs will
be approved for this development.

Chairman Carpenter.
