FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
Approximately $200 to remove 40 feet of red curb. The per-foot
cost could be reduced if more sandblasting work were available at
the same time.
DESCRIPTION: Staff received a request from a resident of the Arbor Creek
townhouse complex to allow parking along a portion of the south side of Silvergate Drive near Arbor
Creek Circle and Silvertree Lane. The on-site parking for the Arbor Creek development is somewhat
limited, and residents with several cars must therefore park on the public streets outside the
development.
The existing red curb on the south side of Silvergate Drive extends from San Ramon Road to
Silvertree Lane. A portion of this red curb is needed for visibility purposes for drivers exiting Arbor
Creek Circle, and a portion is reserved as a bus stop. Staff feels that 40 feet of this red curb could be
removed, which would allow parking for at least two cars.
The cost of sandblasting only this area would be approximately $5.00 per foot, based on labor and
equipment rental charges.
While this item is a relatively small change, Staff felt that holding a public hearing is appropriate in
order to give residents a chance to comment.
Staff recommends that the City Council conduct a public hearing, deliberate, and adopt the resolution
modifying the no parking zone to allow 40 feet of parking on Silvergate Drive.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
MODIFYING NO PARKING ZONE ON SOUTH SIDE OF SIL VERGATE DRIVE
WEST OF SAN RAMON ROAD
The City Council of the City of Dublin hereby resolves as follows:
Section 1: Pursuant to City of Dublin Municipal Code Section 6.04.250, and in the interest
of public safety, the no parking zone described as "Silvergate Drive. . . on the southerly curbline
from the westerly curbline of San Ramon Road, westerly a distance of 500feet" shall be modified to
read as follows:
On the southerly curbline, from the westerly curbline of San Ramon Road, westerly a distance
of 405 feet, and from a point 445 west of the westerly curbline of San Ramon Road, westerly a
distance of 55 feet.
Section 2:
Traffic Code.
Said No Parking Zone shall be added to Section 6.28.010 of the City of Dublin
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 24th day of October, 1994.
