Out of 12,671 registered voters, a total of 4,087 ballots were cast at this special election, which equates to a 32% voter turnout. As an informational point, a total of 9,764 ballots were cast in the November election, with 12,680 registered voters, which equated to a 77% voter turnout. On June 2, 1992, DUblin residents voted on a ballot measure, and out of 10,504 registered voters, a total of 4,609 votes were cast, which equated to a 39% voter turnout. Because far fewer people typically vote in a special election, precincts were consolidated down from 16 to 9 polling places.
