Open Public Hearing Receive Staff Presentation Receive Public Testimony Close Public Hearing Deliberate Adopt Resolution RECOMMENDATION FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Approximately $10,200 in additional revenue will be generated on anannual.basis DESCRIPTION On April 22, 1991, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 36-91 which amended the fee schedule for the Dublin Swim Center. The adopted fee schedule is shown below: o - 5 Years 6 - 17 Years Adults Seniors Family Pass - Single $ $ $ $ Admission .50 1.00 1.50 1.00 Swim Pass (15 Swims) $ 5.00 $10.00 $15.00 $10.00 $85.00 The purpose of the single admission, swim pass and family pass fees is to help offset the cost of operating the swim center. It should be noted that in Fiscal Year 1990-91, the net cost to the city for the swim centers operation was $108,885, and in Fiscal Year 1991-92, the net cost was $116,256. For Fiscal Year 1992-93, Staff estimates that the net cost to the City will be approximately $133,137. Although Staff has seen a steady increase in the revenue generated at the Dublin Swim Center, the operational costs of the Swim Center are increasing at a rate that exceeds the increase in revenue. The Dublin Swim Center is scheduled to open to the public on April 12, 1993. In an attempt to determine the admission fees and pass fees for public swimming for the 1993 swim season, Staff has conducted a survey of public swimming pools in the surrounding area to review the fees charged for admission and passes. The survey results are as follows: RECREATIONAL SWIM FEES Preschool Youth Adult Senior San Ramon $ .50 $1.50 $2.00 $1. 00 Pleasanton $1.25 $1.50 $2.25 $1.80 Livermore $1.00 $1.00 $1. 25 $1.25 -----------------------------~-----~---------------------------------- Average $ .92 $1.33 $1.83 $1.35 -------------------------------------~-~------------------------------ Dublin (current) $ .50 Dublin (recommended) $ .75 $1.00 $1..50 $1.50 $2.00 $1.00 $1..50 Recreational Swim Fees for youths and seniors were last adjusted in April of 1991; fees for preschoolers and adults have not been adjusted since April of 1988. --------~--~---------------------~--------------------------------~ ITEM NO~ CITY CLERK FILE.~ "'-- .
