The above figures reflect an overage of $21,548.40 for the total job, which
results from the change orders noted in the description below. However, it is
estimated that only about $12,500 of the $46,200 budgeted for FY 1987-88 will
be spent this Fiscal Year. There is no need, therefore, to transfer any funds
for project completion.
DESCRIPTION:
In August, 1986, the City Council awarded Contract 86-2 Amador
Valley Boulevard Rehabilitation, to Oliver De Silva, Inc. The contract
included median and street reconstruction, street lighting, and landscaping.
The project was approved in concept by the City Council at the
public hearing on the Amador Valley Blvd. traffic study in May of 1985. The
City Council also approved Federal Aid Urban Program Supplement No. 2 in June,
1986. This agreement was required for use of allotted FAU funds.
ITEM NO. ~. ~ COPIES TO: Oliver De Silva, Inc.
During the construction phase, the City Engineer authorized
changes in striping and the removal of additional defective sidewalk. The
City Council authorized reconstruction of the street through the Southern
Pacific right-of-way after the tracks were removed.
There were a number of private offsite improvement funds
contributed to the project, as well as Federal Aid Urban funds°
The City Engineer has reviewed the work and determined that it is
complete and in accordance with the approved plans, specifications, and
modifications. Staff recommends that the City Council accept the improvements
and authorize release of the securities in lieu of retention.
