FINANCIAL STATEMENT:'
The construction budget for this project is $28,920.
DESCRIPTION: This project would repaint the street side of the concrete sound\Vall
along both sides of Village Parkway between Amador Valley Boulevard and the northern City Limit.
The soundwall was constructed over 20 years ago to replace residential backyard fences, for beautification
as well as sound attenuation. Maintenance painting is required on an infrequent basis in order to seal the
concrete and provide a uniform appearance. The budget includes the estimated cost of trimming back the
landscaping and removing vines from the wall prior to painting. It is proposed to paint the wall in the fall
or early winter so that the landscaping will begin to grow back the following spring.
Staff has sent a notice to the residents whose yards are immediately adjacent to the soundwall and will
meet with and work with the property owners on a case by case basis upon the owners' request.
Landscaping originating in private yards will only be affected if it grows over the top of the wall and
needs to be trimmed to facilitate painting.
It is recommended that the City Council authorize Staff to solicit bids for Contract 07-1 OJ Village Parkway
