2008 electIOn The OrdInance would mcrease the salary for members of the CIty CounCil m an amount equal to a 5% mcrease ofthe current $75806 monthly compensatIOn, compounded annually for calendar years 2007 and 2008, for a total of $835 76 monthly compensatIon The Mayor receives $100 per month more than a Councllmember Government Code SectIOn 36516(a) allows a general law CIty to provIde a salary to CouncIlmembers CompensatIOn may be mcreased by an ordmance With "not to exceed an amount equal to 5% or less for each calendar year from the operatIve date of the last adjustment of the salary III effect when the ordmance or amendment was enacted" (Government Code SectIOn 36516(c) CouncIlmembers currently receIve $758 06 per month as compensatIOn The Dublm City Counctllast adjusted salarIes for the CouncIl m January 2006 and was effectIve after the November 2006 electIon The attached Ordmance WIll mcrease salarIes for calendar years 2007 and 2008, as follows Current compensatIon $75806 2007
