DESCRIPTION:
In April of 1987, the City Council awarded Contract 87-3, the
Annual Slurry Seal Program, to McReynolds Paving, Inc.
Slurry seal is a preventive maintenance technique used to prolong
the life of a street. It consists of a sand/oil mixture which seals cracks
and provides a new uniform wearing surface. The City streets are presently on
a five- to seven-year cycle depending upon the level of wear.
The following streets were slurry-sealed: Beverly Lane, Beverly
Court, Newry Place, Briarwood Lane, Sovereign Court, Glenoaks Way, Shamrock
Place, Bandon Drive, Longford Way, Ashford Way, Carlow Way, Edenberry Street,
Edenberry Place, Bluebell Way, Wicklow Lane, Wicklow Court, Ardmore Place, and
Estrella Court.
The City Engineer has reviewed the work on the project and
determined that it is complete and in accordance with the approved plans and
specifications. Staff recommends that the City Council accept the
improvements and authorize payment to McReynolds Paving, Inc., in the amount
of $24,402.00.
