DESCRIPTION:
On July 21, 1987, the City Council awarded Contract 87-5
Dougherty Road Fence at Camp Parks, to Central Fence. The project provided
for the installation of 1,930 lineal feet of chain link fence on the east
side of Dougherty Road, north of Amador Valley Boulevard. The City agreed
to construct this fence as part of the City's agreement with the Army for a~
road right-of-way easement along the east side of Dougherty Road which will
enable the City to widen Dougherty Road to its ultimate width in the future.
During the construction phase, the City Engineer authorized
deletion of the top rail as a security measure, which was acceptable to the
Army and reduced the contract cost by $1,061.50.
There have been charges to this project for negotiations and
meetings with the Army over the last two years, as this is the only active
Dougherty Road/Army project. These negotiations were not specifically
budgeted for.
The City Engineer has reviewed the work and determined that it
is complete and in accordance with the approved plans, specifications, and
modifications. Staff recommends that the City Council accept the
improvements and authorize payment to Central Fence in the amount of
$1,643.65.
