to certam chapters ofthe Dubhn Murnclpal Code (DMC) One chapter proposed for review IS DMC Chapter 5 40, wmch provides that 1) all hotels or other estabhshments where hVIng rooms or sleepmg accommodatIOns are rented shall keep a register of their guests which mcludes then names, addresses, vehicle IdentdicatIOn and other InfOrmatIOn, 2) the register shall be mamtamed for two years and be open for mspectIOn by the Cmef of Pohce, and 3) It IS unlawful for any guest to use a false name when reglstenng Staff has reviewed the chapter and recommends that the word "City" be capltahzed where necessary to mamtam consistency with the rest of the Dublm Murnclpal Code, and that sectIOn 5 40 040 be amended to make the reference to the Chief of Pohce gender neutral Dubhn Pohce Services has reviewed Chapter 5 40 and concurs With the recommended changes On January 15,2008, the City Council held a pubhc hearmg regardmg the proposed ordmance Followmg the pubhc hearmg the City CouncIl Waived
