DESCRIPTION: Two years ago, the City acquired the Kolb Park property from the Murray School District under the provisions of the Naylor Bill at 25% of market value. In July, 1987, the City Council awarded Contract 87-6 Kolb Park Improvements, to Valley Crest Landscape, Inc. The project, which was designed by Singer and Hodges, provided for construction of a new park on the existing Kolb Park site and the renovation of existing tennis courts and ITEM NO. ~ 7~ COPIES TO: Valley Crest Landscape lighting. The site was regraded, irrigated, and landscaped along with the installation of restrooms, play structures, picnic areas, lighted wal~ays, and a parcourse. During the construction phase, changes were authorized to repair adjacent sidewalk, construct a park sign, and install an additional water service as requested by the Dublin San Ramon Services District. Last February, the City Council approved a request in the amount of $17,666 for addition of an overlay for the tennis courts so that the renovation would be effective. The City Engineer has reviewed the work on the project and determined that it is complete and in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. Staff recommends that the City Council accept the improvements, authorize retention payment to Valley Crest Landscape in the amount of $33,057.47, and authorize a budget transfer from unallocated reserves in the amount of $3,115.63.
