FINANCIAL STATEMENT : Project Funds Budgeted: $403,070
DESCRIPTION : At the January 12, 1987 meeting of the
Dublin City Council, the Council authorized preparation of
construction documents for Phase I of Dolan Park. The project
provides for installation of park furniture, installation of
childrens play area, landscaping, irrigation, lighting and
walkways.
There is $403,070 available for design, construction and
inspection of Phase I improvements. Estimates prepared by staff
and the architect indicate that sufficient funds will be
available for the project.
It is recommended that the City Council authorize staff to
advertise Contract 87-7 for bids. Construction documents and
specifications will be available for review at the meeting.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed proposals will be received at the office of the City Engineer of the City
Dublin, 6500 Dublin Boulevard, Dublin, California, until 2:00 p. m. on July 31, 1987,
at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud for construction in
accordance with the proje6t plans and specifications to which special reference is
made, as follows:
DOLAN pARK IMPROVEMENTS
This project has a goal of 10 percent disadvantaged business participation and a goal
of 1 percent woman-owned business enterprise participation.
THIS PROJECT IS SUBJECT TO THE "BUY A~CA' PROVISIONS OF ~ SUP~ACE T~PORTATION
~SISTANCE ACT OF 1982.
A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on July 24, 1987, at Dublin City
Offices, Suite D, 6500 Dublin Blvd., Dublin CA 94568.
This meeting is to inform DB/WBE of subcontracting and material supply opportunities.
Bidders' attendance at this meeting is a prerequisite for demonstrating reasonable
effort to obtain DB/WBE participation; however, if the DB/WBE goal is met or DB/WBE
participation is obtained, attendance is not required.
Prospective bidders can obtain copies of the plans and specifications for the work
from the City Engineer of the City of Dublin, 6500 Dublin Boulevard, Suite D, Dublin,
California, at the following non-refundable costs:
Plans and special provisions, $45.00 per set. If mailing is desired, an
additional non-refundable cost of $5.00 per set Mi1 be required. Checks or money
orders must be made payable to the City of Dublin. Inquiries may be directed to
the City Engineer's Office at (415) 829-4927.
Bids must be made on proposal forms which are included with the project
specifications and must be signed by the bidder and accompanied by a deposit in the
amount shown on the Bid Bond form which is part of the Proposal, and sealed within a
bid envelope. This deposit may be cash, cashier's check, certified check (certified '
without qualification and drawn on a solvent business in the State of California) or
bid bond, made payable to the City of Dublin or the bid will not be considered; this
aforesaid deposit is to serve as agreed and as liquidated damages should the party or
parties to whom the contract is awarded fail to enter into the co~tract after the
award or fail to give the bond required for the faithful performance of the contract,
or fall to furnish any other bond required by the agreement or by law. The City of
Dublin reserves the right to reject any or all bids and/or to waive any
informalities.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK - In general, the work to be done consists of the furnishing of
all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and services necessary for
the construction and installation of the following:
- Earthwork
- Drainage systems
- Concrete flatwork and risers
- Wood structures, decks, and retaining walls .
- Walkway lighting
- Play apparatus
- Picnic tables, benches, litter can holders, drinking fountain
- Flat area and slope automatic irrigation
- Weed abatement and soil preparation
- Hydroseeded turf, slopes, and erosion control, areas
- Trees, shrubs, and vines
- Plant establishment and post-installation maintenance periods
The Contractor shall do whatever else is required by the plans and these special
provisions or that may be necessary to be done in order to perform a complete Job in
all respects as indicated on the plans attached hereto and made a part hereof, or as
specified herein and as directed by the Engineer. Contractor is to provide
construction staking as required.
ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE OF WORK - The quantities itemized below are estimate~. Paymemt
quantities shall be based on the tabulation presented on the Bid Schedule included in
the proposal section of the special provisions.

The City of Dublin hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure
that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged
business and woman-owned business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to
submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on
the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
Minimum wage rates for this project as predetermined by the Secretary of Labor are
set forth in the special provisions. If there is a difference between the minimum
wage rates predetermined by the Secretary of Labor and prevailing wage rates
determined by the Department of Industrial Relations for similar classifications of
labor, the Contractor and his subcontractors shall pay not less than the higher wage
rate.
Pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, the general prevailing rate of wages in
the county in which the work is to be done has been determined by the Director of
the Department of Industrial Eelations. These wage rates appear in the Department
of Transportation publication entitled General Prevailing Wage Rates dated March,
1986. Future effective wage rates which have been predetermined and are on file
with the Department of Industrial Eelatfons are referenced but not printed in said
publication.
