HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 11-08 HKIT Architects Consult RESOLUTION NO. 11 - 08 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN *********** APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH HKIT ARCHITECTS FOR THE MAINTENANCE FACILITY PROGRAMMING STUDY WHEREAS, the City Council determined that identifying funding sources for construction of a maintenance yard is a high priority goal; and WHEREAS, a programming study is required in order to identify the features of the maintenance facility and thus the cost of land and construction; and WHEREAS, the City entered into a Consulting Services Agreement on August 15, 2006, with HKIT Architects (formerly known as Hardison Komatsu Ivelich & Tucker) to conduct the programming study; and WHEREAS, it has become necessary for changes to be made to the programming study, for which the Consultant has submitted a proposal that has been deemed appropriate for the scope of work. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby approve the amendment to the agreement with HKIT Architects for consulting services related to the maintenance yard programming study. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute the amendment to the agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit "A." PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of February, 2008, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Hildenbrand, Oravetz, Sbranti and Scholz, and Mayor Lockhart NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None AlL t f ~ Deputy City Clerk Reso No. 11-08, Adopted 2/5/08, Item 4.14 Page 1 of 1 EXHIBIT "A" OF RESOLUTION (( -08 AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF DUBLIN AND HKIT ARCHITECTS FOR CONSULTING SERVICES TO PERFORM THE MAINTENANCE YARD PROGRAMMING STUDY WHEREAS, the. City of Dublin (hereinafter referred to as "CITY") and HKIT Architects, formerly Hardison Komatsu Ivelich & Tucker, (hereinafter referred to as "CONSULTANT"), entered into an agreement on August 15, 2006, to provide consulting services to CITY for the Maintenance Yard Programming Study (Project); and WHEREAS, a programming study is required in order to identify the features of the maintenance facility and thus the cost of land and construction; and WHEREAS, Consultant has prepared a proposal for completing the necessary changes to the programming study for $3,237 which has been reviewed by the City and determined to be appropriate for this task; NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto agree as follows: Correction of Original Agreement The August 15,2006, Agreement contained a typographical error stating the date of expiration as June 30, 2006. Section 1.1 of the Agreement, Term of Services, shall be amended to read: "The. term of this Agreement shall begin on the date first noted above and shall end on June 30, 2007, the date of completion specified in Exhibit A, ...:....." Extension of Term of Agreement The term of the Agreement shall be extended from July 1,2007, to February 29,2008. Increase Compensation Allowed under Agreement The total contract amount is increased by $3,237 to amend the study and the appurtenant drawings to a total cost of$38,237.
