DESCRIPTION:
This project provides for the installation of traffic signals at
the intersections of Amador Plaza Road/Amador Valley Blvd. and Village
Parkway/Lewis Avenue. The project will also complete the landscaping of
Amador Valley Blvd. from Amador Plaza Road to Village Parkway and will
complete the signal interconnect link from Dublin Boulevard north on Village
Parkway and the west on Amador Valley Blvd. to San Ramon Road.
In addition, the second left turn lane from eastbound Dublin
Boulevard to northbound Village Parkway has been added to this project in
order to obtain the best possible construction cost. This modification was
requested by the City Council and will significantly improve the level of
service at the Dublin Blvd./Village Parkway intersection.
This project is included in the 1987-88 and 1988-89 Fiscal Years'
Capital Improvement Program budgets. Both intersections receiving new
signals have met the warrants for the installation of traffic signals.
Because of the new signal at Amador Valley Blvd. and Amador Plaza
Road, the left turn storage bay from westbound to southbound must be
extended. This will affect the church driveway on the north side of the
street by moving the opening to the east, making a "U" turn necessary rather
than a direct turn-in.
