$131,300
Although this project is $7,385.57 under budget, all the funds were budgeted
in Fiscal Year 1989-90. No funds were budgeted for FY1990-91; therefore a

DESCRIPTION: On October 30, 1989, the City Council awarded
Contract 89-8 Civic Center Courtyard Fountain to Golden Bay Construction.
This project, which was designed by David Gates and Associates, constructed
a water element in the courtyard of the Civic Center supports the globe
sculpture that was recently installed by the Dublin Fine Arts Foundation.
Most of the project was completed ahead of schedule; however, the slate
lining that was specified for the fountain delayed the project for some time
causing liquidated damages in the amount of $3,500.
The City Engineer has determined that the work was completed in accordance
with the approved plans and specifications. Staff recommends that the City
Council accept the improvements and authorize retention payment, less
liquidated damages, to Golden Bay Construction in the amount of $7,877.
