FINANCIAL STATEMENT: CIP Budget for Street Lighting (included in "Underground Utilities'- Dougherty Road project): $50,000 Operating Budget for replacing four pole knockdowns: $ 5,668 Total: $55,668 Engineer's Estimate for Dougherty Road street lights: $25,000 Engineer's Estimate for replacing four pole knockdowns: $ 6,000 Total: $31,000 DESCRIPTION: This contract is a portion of the Capital Improvement Project to underground the utilities on Dougherty Road between the Southern Pacific Railroad Right- of-Way and Amador Valley Boulevard. Since the wood power poles with street lights will be removed, the City will need to install metal poles along this section of Dougherty Road in order to maintain the street lighting. In addition to the Dougherty light poles, this contract includes replacement of four City-owned poles in various locations which have been knocked down in traffic accidents. Rafanelli and Nahas will be installing underground conduit and vaults for the electrical undergrounding as part of a revised offsite requirement for Tract 5511 at an estimated cost of $179,000. P.G. & E. will pull wires, remove poles, and install street light heads at an estimated cost of $130,000. The City will pay P.G. & E. for this work as the remaining portion of this Capital Improvement Project. The P.G. & E. drawings, specifications, and cost estimates are just now being completed. Staff anticipates that construction of the City's street light project to take place concurrently with Rafanelli and Nahas' and P.G. & E.'s projects, beginning approximately mid-September and running through the end of the calendar year. Rafanelli and Nahas will place the two required southbound lanes as soon as they finish their underground work. ITF-M NO. '~/~/~ 7~ COPIES TO:
