Thompson, Public Works Director ATTACHMENTS: Resolution authorizing the reprogramming of federal funds for the Alamo Canal Bicycle Path Project RECOMMENDATION: ~A/(X~pt resolution authorizing reprogramming of federal funds FINANCIAL STATEMENT: If City of Dublin's reprogramming request is approved, the City will receive $175,000 to partially fund the Alamo Canal Bicycle Path Project. The City will be required to provide 11.5% local match ($22,740) to construct the project. DESCRIPTION: The City of Dublin has requested the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency to reprogram the City' s federal Surface Transportation Program funds of $175,000 currently programmed for the Village Parkway/Tamarack Drive Traffic Signal project. This traffic signal project is now fully funded with other federal funds along with two other proposed traffic signals at Village Parkway/Brighton Drive and Village Parkway/Davona Drive. The $175,000 can be used for other projects that meet the Surface Transportation Program criterion and staff is proposing to use these funds for the Alamo Canal Bicycle Path Project from Amador Valley Boulevard to the Iron Horse Trail connection. This transfer of funds will lessen City General Funds needed to construct the project, though it will slightly delay project construction by 3-4 months. To reprogram the funds, a Transportation Improvement Program amendment will be required through the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC). A City resolution approving the reprogramming of federal funds is required by MTC in order to the process the amendment. Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the Resolution authorizing the reprogramming of $175,000 of federal Surface Transportation Program funds for the Alamo Canal Bicycle Path project. g:overlay\project\agstFundingAppli.doc COPIES TO: ITEM NO.
