A PROCLAMATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF DUBLIN, CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, Cub Scout Pack 930 is sponsored by Nielsen Elementary School Parent Teacher's
Association (PTA) and serves western Dublin (Nielsen Elementary, Dublin Elementary, St.
Raymond's) and also has boys from Dougherty Elementary and Green Elementary from Grades 1st -
5th and has approximately 40 boys; and
WHEREAS, Cub Scout Pack 930 carried out the St01'1n Drain Marker Project (The Project} which
included 20 scouts, 16 parents and 3 siblings; and
WHEREAS, the Cub Scouts targeted residential areas in western Dublin in the Bay Laurel Drive,
Inspiration Circle, Rolling Hills Drive, Creekside Drive, Bloomington Way, Marwick Drive, Fenwick
Way and portions of Silver gate Drive, Hansen Drive and Cresta Lane neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, four teams workedfrom 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and placed 201 inlet "NO DUMPING" markers.
In addition, onefamily took 20 markers homefor placement in their neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, all teams carried a trash/problem survey sheet. The team on Rolling Hills
Drive/Creekside Drive collected a trash bag of trash. The remaining teams found and collected a
minimal amount of trash (barely enough to fill a shopping bag), indicating that trash is not a
problem in these neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, The Project helps Scouts meet requirements for rank advancement and also earning the
World Conservation Award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that, I Janet Lockhart, Mayor of the City of Dublin, on
behalf of the entire City Council, recognize the efforts of Cub Scout Pack 930 and commend th12W,{(:ra
job well done.
