DESCRIPTION: In May 1992, the City Council awarded Contract 92-08, the
Annual Slurry Seal Program, to California Pavement Maintenance Company.
Slurry seal is a preventive maintenance technique used to prolong the life of a
street. It consists of a sand/oil mixture which seals cracks and provides a new
uniform wearing surface. The City streets are presently on a five- to seven-year
cycle, depending upon the level of wear. Before streets are seal coated, oil spots
are removed.
Streets which were slurry sealed during 1991-92 are as follows:
Bloomington Way
Valencia Street
Putnam Court
Cavalier Lane
Waterford Court

Via Zapata

recommends that the City Council accept the improvements and authorize payment to
California Pavement maintenance in the amount of $56,054.44.
