FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Once these improvements have been accepted, the City will incur maintenance and street sweeping costs for the City treet improvements on Dublin Boulevard, Central Parkway, Hacienda Drive, Hibernia Drive, and Tassajara Road. The street light maintenance costs will be paid by the Street Lighting Maintenance Assessment District 97-1. Maintenance of median island street landscaping on Central Parkway will be performed by the City. DESCRIPTION: Parcel Map 7125, Villas Apartments at Santa Rita, consists of 324 apartment units and is located in the Eastern Dublin Specific Plan area north of Dublin Boulevard, and east of Hacienda Drive, west of Hibernia Drive and south of Central Parkway. As part of this project the developer widened and constructed frontage improvements along. Dublin Boulevard, Hacienda Drive, Hibernia Drive and Central Parkway. The developer also widened Tassajara Road between Dublin Boulevard and I-580 and improved the intersections of Tassajara Road and Dublin Boulevard, and Central Parkway and Hacienda Drive. The improvements have been constructed pursuant to the Tract Developer Agreement and to the satisfaction of the Public Works Director, and should now be accepted by the City for permanent maintenance. G:\DEVELOPMENT, PRIVATE\VILLASWgstacpt_7125.doc The following regulatory traffic control devices will be accepted and approved as part of this project and added to the City of Dublin Traffic Code: A. No parking restrictions have been installed on both sides o£ • Dublin Boulevard between Hacienda Drive and Hibernia Drive • Central Parkway between Hacienda Drive and Hibernia Drive • Hacienda Drive between Dublin Boulevard and Central Parkway • Hibernia Drive between Dublin Boulevard and Central Parkway At the time the City and Security Pacific Corporation executed the Tract Developer Agreement, the developer provided a Performance Bond in the amount of $892,814.00 and a Payment Bond in the amount of $446,407.00 to guarantee performance of the work. The developer also provided a Performance Bond Rider in the amount of $1,177,814.00, a Payment Bond Rider in the amount of $589,006.00, and a Surety Bond Rider in the amount of $1,177,814.00. Now that the work is complete, these bonds and riders may be released in accordance with the authority contained in §66499.7 of the Government Code. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the Resolution accepting improvements and approving regulatory traffic control devices installed for Parcel Map 7125, Villas Apartments at Santa Rita. aka i ~ I NNO. -08 RESOLUT O A RESOLUTION OF THE. CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN ACCEPTANCE OF IMPROVEMENTS FOR PARCEL MAP 7125 (VILLAS APARTMENTS AT SANTA RITA) , AND APPROVING REGULATORY TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES WHEREAS, the subdivider of Parcel Map 7125, filed on October 29, 1998, in Book 243 of Maps at Pages 7 - 10, previously entered into a Tract Developer Agreement with the City of Dublin to improve said Parcel Map in accordance with plans and specifications on file with the City Engineer, said Parcel Map identified as follows:. a) Subdivider: b) Parcel Map Location: c) Parcel Map Size: d) Resolution Approving Agreement: e) City Streets Affected: Security Pacific Corporation North of Dublin Boulevard, West of Hacienda Drive, South of Central Parkway and East of Hibernia Drive 324 Apartment units on 14.013 acres No. 18-98, City of Dublin City Council Tassajara Road, Dublin Boulevard, Central Parkway, Hacienda Drive and Hibernia Drive WHEREAS, the improvements associated with Parcel Map 7125 are complete in accordance with said plans and specifications, and any approved modifications thereto, to the satisfaction of the Public Works Director; and WHEREAS, the developer has installed certain regulatory traffic control devices as a part of the Parcel Map improvements; and WHEREAS, the original Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Bond can be released, in accordance with the authority contained in §66499.7 of the Government Code of the State of California; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that: 1. The improvements completed within said Parcel Map are hereby approved and accepted; and 2. The original Performance Bond issued by United Pacific Insurance Company (Bond No. U2804048) in the amount of $892,814.00 be released; and 4. The original Performance Bond Rider issued by United Pacific Insurance Company (Bond No. U2804048) in the amount of $1,177,814.00 be released; and 6. The original Payment Bond Rider issued by United Pacific Insurance Company (Bond No. U2804048) in the amount of $589,006.00 be released; and 7. The original Surety Bond Rider issued by Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America (Bond No. 008 S 103519130 BCM) in the amount of $1,177,814.00 be released.
