The cost of design and inspection is budgeted in the Engineering Operating Budget as part of the General Engineering cost. DESCRIPTION: On September 12, 1994, the City Council awarded Contract 94- 06, the Annual Slurry Seal Program, to Valley Slurry Seal Co. Slurry seal is a preventive maintenance technique used to prolong the life of a street. It consists of a sand/oil mixture which seals cracks and provides a new uniform wearing surface. The City streets are presently on a seven-year cycle. Before streets are seal coated, oil spots are removed and asphalt failures are repaired. Streets which were slurry sealed for this contract are as follows: Bonniewood Court Sharon Street Chatham Street Sheffield Court Firethorn Way Bonfield Court Lisa Court Cardigan Court Wineberry Way Locust Place Crossridge Road Willow Creek Drive Bonniewood Lane Kilrush Avenue Cardiff Drive Sheffield Lane Elgin Lane Cranford Lane Mayan Court Canterbury Court Mulberry Place Cypress Court Squirrel Creek Circle Sharon Court Limerick Avenue Cardiff Court Wexford Court Knollwood Place Diana Lane Jasmine Court Larkdale Avenue Mulberry Court Shady Creek Circle Quail Creek Circle The repair of street failures prior to slurry sealing was performed with the City's Annual Overlay project, budgeted in the Street Maintenance Operating Budget, and paid by gas tax funds. The City Engineer has reviewed the work on the project and determined that it is complete and in accordance with the approved specifications.
