be accomplished in that year.
DESCRIPTION: At its meeting of June 13, 1995, the City Council authorized Staff
to advertise for bids for Contract 95-04, the Biennial Striping and Marking Contract. This contract is the
same as the previous years' striping and marking contracts in that the term of the contract is a two-year
period, with provision for an annual review and oppommity to adjust rates.
The Scope of Work for this contract includes striping and marking for the annual slurry seal work and
any other street striping or marking that needs to be added or renewed during the course of the year. The
striping specifications and quantities are included in the contract documents and in the State Standard
Specifications, which are made a part of this agreement by reference.
The City received three bids (see attached bid summary) for this project. The low bidder was Riley
Striping with a bid of $49,855 for the two-year contract. This contract basically establishes unit prices
for various striping bid items. Individual work orders will be priced based on these unit prices. Staff
recommends acceptance of this bid since it is within the budget parameters and the bid documents were
in order.
Staff has reviewed the low bidder's proposal and recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution
awarding the bid to Riley Striping.
