was Involved in a hit and run accident several years ago. While the cabinet was not destroyed in the
accident, the door and door opening were bent, and the door is now very difficult to open. The dust seal
for this cabinet has also been compromised, which is detrimental to the electronic equipment inside the
cabinet. This intersection is not planned to be upgaded for several more years, and it is therefore
recommended that the cabinet be replaced as a maintenance item.
Staff'solicited price quotations from four suppliers oftraffc signaI equipment, and posted a Notice to
Bidders in the City's three public posting locations. The lowest responsive bid was received from
Synchronex, Inc., who is capable of manufacturing a cabinet that is compatible with the City's Traconex
traffic signal controllers and auxiliary equipment.
Staff'recommends that the City Council award the purchase order to Synchronex, Inc.
