HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 049-83 SRRd to Foothill NORESOLUTION NO. 49 - 83 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN DENYING THE STREET NAME CHANGE: SAN RAMON ROAD TO FOOTHILL ROAD WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has initiated a Street Name Change: San Ramon Road to Foothill Road, for the area between 1-580 and Alcosta Blvd.; and WHEREAS, the City of Dublin has adopted Ordinance 4-83, for the establishment and changing of street names; and, WHEREAS, the City Planning Department Staff has caused the required notices to be posted and mailed; and, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission reviewed the proposed street name change at a public hearing on July 18, 1983, and made no recommendation; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the proposed street name change at a public hearing on September 26, 1983; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to the State and City environmental regulation, the project is catagorically exempt under Class I: Existing Facilities; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds that: The proposal would create unnecessary expenses to the City. The proposal would require some existing businesses to make costly changes to their advertisments. 3. The road is well known under its current name. The proposal would create confusion for emergency service providers and others. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council denies the street name change: San Ramon Road to Foothill. 1983. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 26th day of September, AYES: Mayor Snyder Councilmembers Hegarty, Jeffery, Moffatt, and NOES: None ABSENT: Cm. Burton DP 83-20
