A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A
GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF DUBLIN ON
TUESDAY, APRIL 10, 1984
FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OF OFFICERS OF SAID CITY
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to General
Law Cities a regular general municipal election shall be held on
April 10, 1984 for the election of five (5) members of the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Government Code Section 35443
the terms of the two (2) candidates receiving the highest number of
votes shall be four (4) years and the term of the three (3) candidates
receiving the lowest number of votes shall hold office for two (2) year
terms.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Dublin does
hereby resolve, declare, determine and order as follows:
Section 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the
laws of the State of California relating to General Law Cities, there
shall be and there is hereby called and ordered, held in the City of
Dublin on Tuesday, April 10, 1984, a regular municipal election of the
qualified electors of said City for the purpose of electing five (5)
members of the City Council of said City.
Section 2. That the ballots to be used at said
election shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as
maybe required by law to be used thereat.
Section 3. That the City Clerk of said City is hereby
authorized, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and all
official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment
and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to properly and
lawfully conduct said election.
Section 4. That the polls for said election shall be
open at 7:00 a.m. of the day of said election and shall remain open
continuously from said time until 8:00 p.m. of the same day when said
polls shall be closed except as provided in Section 14301 of the
Elections Code of the State of California.
Section 5. That in all particulars not recited in
this Resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided
by law for holding municipal election in said City.
Section 6. That notice of the time and place of
holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby
authorized and directed to give additional notice of said election, in
time, form and manner as required by law.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of December, 1983.
