EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
This year's Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan Project (CIP No. 930007) will
include the construction of approximately 18 pedestrian curb ramps. The ramps are funded
through a Community Development Block Grant Recovery (CDBG-R) grant and the General
Fund (1001) as identified in the ADA Transition Plan Project (CIP No. 939101).
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The adopted Fiscal year 2009-2010 total appropriations for this project were $19,650, including

funds is provided in a Budget Change and results in a total project cost of $56,410. Of this
amount, $1,800 is allocated for design and inspection, and the portion of the project budget

REASON FOR BUDGET CHANGE ENTRY: At the City Council meeting on July 21, 2009 the City Council
approved an agreement to accept additional Community Development Block Grant Recovery Funds, to be
applied to expanding the number of locations for new sidewalk ramps as part of the Americans with
Disabilities Act Transition Project. On October 20, 2009, Staff is seeking approval from the City Council to
pursue bids for the project. It is appropriate for the City Council to adopt a Budget Change which will account
for the additional CDBG allocation and the proposed project expenditure.
