The 2002 clean-up dates are as follow: 2002 Special Clean-Up Schedule April 1 through April 19 July 29 through August 16 October 14 through November 1 Staff commented that the dates were chosen based on previous experience, and that historically, a Winter clean-up had not produced much tonnage, primarily due to poor weather that discouraged large outdoor clean-up projects. The three clean-ups are currently scheduled for Spring, Summer and Fall to coincide with most large clean-up projects. The Council agreed that these were the most appropriate times of the year, but requested that Staff look at slightly modifying the dates to more evenly space the three events. Below is the tentative special clean-up schedule for 2003. The primary difference from the 2002 schedule is that the 2003 Fall clean-up has been pushed back a few weeks to provide more space between the Fall and Summer clean-ups. This will also shorten the gap between Fall 2003 and Spring 2004. These dates are only tentative and if the Council would like to modify the schedule, this is an appropriate time to do so. 2003 Special Clean-Up Schedule March 31 through April 18 July 28 through August 15 COPIES TO: ITEM NO. ~ It/cc-forms/agdastmt. doc //~ ~__ ~.~ 'October 27 through November 14 Ther~ is some room for modification, however the dates must not conflict with Waste Management's c~ean-up dates for the City of San Ramon as shown below: City of San Ramon 2003 Special Clean-Up Schedule February 24 through March 14 June 9 through June 27 October 6 through October 24 After receiving confirmation fi.om the City, Waste Management will send notices to all residents in January informing them of the 2003 clean-up schedule.
