Business Visitation Program In the development of any formal business visitation program, it is important to establish the objectives and outcomes that serve as the basis and/or reason for the visitation. Staff has identified the following as the objectives and outcomes: Objectives • Assist businesses with retention and expansion needs • Bring awareness to resources available to support their business o Human resources o Site selection o Permit streamlining o Demographic data o Financial incentives Outcomes: • Retain jobs • Improve the business climate • Expand and increase businesses and jobs • Identify problems local businesses face and create solutions • Connect businesses with the resources they need to grow and thrive • Increase communication between businesses and local communities Staff, in consultation with the Economic Development Committee, is recommending one business visitation per month. In determining the selected visitation, one or more of the following factors will be considered: • Number of employees • Sales tax revenue generated • Overall impact to the Dublin community The selection of the future business visitations will be determined at the Committee meeting. A report of the business visitation will be made available to the full City Council either as a staff report item (if warranted), or as an informational report by the Committee at the City Council meeting. Staff plans to promote the Program in the City's new Business e-Newsletter, as well as create a page on the City's website.
