A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCII,
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
APPROVAL OF APPROPRIATION OF 1997 LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT
BLOCK GRANT FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City Council authorized Staff to apply for the Federal Local Law Enforcement
Block Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice, through the Bureau of Justice Assistance,
awarded a 1997 grant in the amount of $14,356 to the City of Dublin; and
WHEREAS, Dublin Police Services, in accordance with the Block Grant application instructions,
convened an advisory Board to review the application and make nonbinding recommendations for the use
of the funds; and
WHEREAS, the Advisory Board's recommendation unanimously recommended that 100% of the
proceeds from the Law Enforcement Block Grant be used to partially offset the salary of the bicycle
officer; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on July 21, 1998; and
WHEREAS, a Staff Report was submitted recommending that the City Council approve the
expenditure of the Block Grant funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did hear and exercise their independent judgment and considered all
reports, recommendations, and testimony hereinabove set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Block Grant funds are hereby appropriated to
fund a portion of the salary of the Dublin Police Services bicycle officer.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21 day of July, 1998.
