HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 028-97 StreetName/IronHorsRESOLUTION NO. 28 - 97 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN APPROVING NEW STREET NAMES "IRON HORSE PARKWAY" AND "DEMARCUS BOULEVARD" FOR THE ACCESS ROADS TO THE BART PARKING LOT WHEREAS, the City has received a request to name the easterly access road to the BART parking lot "Iron Horse Parkway" and to name the westerly access road "DeMarcus Boulevard"; and WHEREAS, the U.S. Postal Service, emergency services, and other appropriate agencies have no objection to the proposed street names; and WHEREAS, Chapter 7.08 of the Dublin Municipal Code grants the City Council authority to approve a new street name by adoption of a resolution without holding a public hearing; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Dublin City Council finds that the new street names are in compliance with Section 7.08.070 of the Dublin Municipal Code relating to naming of public streets, and that the new street names will not be detrimental to the public health, safety, or general welfare. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council approves the names "Iron Horse Parkway" (easterly access road) and "DeMarcus Boulevard" (westerly access road). PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of March, 1997.
